Design Concept

  • Massing and Spatial Program: The contemporary single-to-partial upper-level residence encompasses a total built-up area of 1,018 sq ft, comprising a ground floor area of 890 sq ft ($82.50\text{ m}^2$) and an upper stair cabin/room of 128 sq ft ($11.90\text{ m}^2$).

  • Exterior Architecture: The modern facade features clean horizontal lines, flat roof overhangs, decorative wood-finish paneling, natural stone cladding along the front walls, warm recessed ceiling lighting, and an upper parapet deck.

  • Functional Layout & Zoning:

    • Ground Floor: Features a front entrance sit-out ($2.71 \times 1.14\text{ m}$) leading into a central living space ($2.70 \times 3.00\text{ m}$), a dining area ($3.00 \times 2.70\text{ m}$), a kitchen ($2.70 \times 2.70\text{ m}$), multiple bedrooms (including rooms measuring $2.86 \times 3.40\text{ m}$ and $4.32 \times 3.00\text{ m}$), and internal sanitary facilities.

    • Upper Level: Accommodates a stair cabin room leading out to a spacious open terrace area.

Spatial Orientations

  • Site and Climatic Alignment: The layout includes a directional compass indicator (North, South, East, West) to help orient the building facade and windows relative to local sun paths and wind directions.

  • Vertical Integration: An internal staircase connects the ground-floor living core to the upper stair room, providing smooth vertical circulation to the expansive open terrace.

  • Fenestration and Ventilation: Perimeter walls feature distributed window units (w3) and ventilators (v) across multiple facades to maximize natural daylighting and promote cross-ventilation throughout the interior spaces
