An architectural design concept and spatial orientation overview for Arun's residence designed by Rahul Construction (Shornur):
Massing and Spatial Program: The contemporary single-story modern residence features a compact plinth area of 950 sq ft with an exterior staircase leading up to an upper roof terrace.
Exterior Architecture: The front elevation showcases a stylish single-level profile accented with warm laterite/stone-clad rectangular pillars, wooden-slat paneling, dark wood-finish windows, and a parapet railing above the roof deck.
Functional Layout & Zoning:
The interior centers around a spacious open-plan Living cum Dining area ($696 \times 400\text{ cm}$) connected directly to the front Sitout ($336 \times 144\text{ cm}$).
The functional layout includes a kitchen ($216 \times 300\text{ cm}$), a dedicated store room ($144 \times 108\text{ cm}$), a work area ($144 \times 276\text{ cm}$), and multiple bedrooms ($300 \times 360\text{ cm}$) equipped with attached dressing spaces and sanitary W/C facilities.
Circulation and Access: External stairs running along the right elevation provide direct vertical access to the upper roof terrace, keeping the private family spaces below independent.
Indoor-Outdoor Connectivity: The entry sequence flows smoothly from the front steps into the sheltered sit-out and straight into the main living zone.
Fenestration and Ventilation: Perimeter walls feature distributed window units (w2, w3) and ventilation louvers to maximize natural daylighting and promote cross-ventilation across all interior rooms.
