Design Concept

• Massing and Spatial Program: The compact contemporary duplex features a total built-up area of 994 sq ft set on a 3-cent plot adjacent to a 4.50-meter-wide road. The layout is divided into a ground floor of 651 sq ft ($60.48\text{ m}^2$) and a first floor of 343 sq ft ($31.90\text{ m}^2$).

• Functional Zoning & Layout:

  • Ground Floor: Accommodates a front sit-out ($221 \times 106\text{ cm}$), an open living area ($464 \times 236\text{ cm}$), a central dining space ($221 \times 270\text{ cm}$), a U-shaped kitchen ($270 \times 270\text{ cm}$), multiple bedrooms, and internal sanitary facilities.

  • First Floor: Comprises an upper bedroom ($282 \times 470\text{ cm}$), a staircase landing, a private W/C ($100 \times 92\text{ cm}$), and an exterior balcony ($263 \times 92\text{ cm}$) overlooking a spacious open terrace deck.

Spatial Orientations

• Site and Climatic Alignment: The plot layout includes a directional compass indicator pointing North, South, East, and West to properly align the building facade and openings with local sunlight and prevailing wind vectors.

• Vertical Integration: An internal staircase connects the main ground-floor living and dining corridor to the upper-level floor plan, ensuring seamless vertical circulation between the levels.

• Indoor-Outdoor Connectivity & Fenestration: Transitional open-air connections are established through the ground-floor entrance sit-out, the upper-level balcony, and the expansive open terrace. Perimeter walls feature strategically distributed windows (w2, w3) and ventilators to optimize natural cross-ventilation and daylight penetration across all living zones.
