An architectural design concept and spatial orientation overview for Sreejith's residence designed by Rahul Construction (Shornur):
Massing and Spatial Program: The compact contemporary design encompasses a total built-up area of 1,145 sq ft sitting on a 3.6-cent plot, with a 765 sq ft ground floor and a 380 sq ft first floor.
Exterior Architecture: The front elevation features a pitched gabled roof element over the balcony section paired with clean flat rooflines, warm wood-finish paneling around the main windows, a glass-balustrade upper balcony, and integrated pillar lighting.
Functional Layout & Zoning: The ground floor contains an entrance sit-out ($2.13 \times 2.00$), a centralized living and dining core, a kitchen ($2.13 \times 3.24$), multiple bedrooms, and W/C facilities. The upper level provides a private living hall, an attached balcony ($2.13 \times 2.00$), a bedroom, and an expansive open terrace.
Site and Climatic Alignment: The layout includes a directional compass indicator (North, South, East, West) to help orient the building relative to prevailing solar paths and local wind patterns.
Vertical Integration: An internal stair core links the ground-floor living zone to the upper-level hall, supplemented by an open-to-below void that improves vertical air and light circulation.
Indoor-Outdoor Connectivity & Fenestration: The design establishes seamless transitions through the ground-floor sit-out and upper balcony/terrace zones, while distributed perimeter windows (w2, w3) and ventilators ensure optimal natural illumination and cross-ventilation across all rooms.
